History, standing

Our Lady of Atonement Cathedral or more popularly the Baguio Cathedral. Built atop Mount Mary’s hill, the 78-year old church of coral stone in the neogothic design is replete with history. It was the only building left standing after American planes bombed the City in 1945 to retake it from the Japanese Imperial Army which had made the City into its military headquarters. Residents who took shelter inside the church survived the bombing, and a few are alive to this day (to, well, tell the story).
